​Ollie Bartosh

Director & Head Coach

Ollie is the founder of The Racket and first started playing tennis at the age of four. He competed in countless tournaments as a junior and played Caro Bowl Reserve. Ollie is also a high-performance Padel player and is ranked no. 1 in New Zealand. 

He has over 20 years’ experience coaching junior and senior players. Ollie has coached beginner to advanced & high-performance players, including some of New Zealand's top age group juniors. 

 

Ollie's qualifications include:

  • Head or senior coaching positions held at several large Auckland tennis clubs

  • Level 1 Coaching - International Tennis Federation

  • Level 1 Coaching - Padel NZ Certified

  • Bachelor of Business (Finance), AUT

  • Bachelor of Sport and Recreation (Management), AUT

  • Crossfit Level 1 Certified Trainer

  • First Aid Level 1 Qualification

Emma Eccleton

Director & Head Coach

Emma has played tennis from the age of 5 and has competed domestically and internationally in ITF tournaments. As a high-performance player Emma competed in Caro Bowl and quickly gravitated to tennis coaching from the age of 13. Emma is also a high-performance Padel player and is ranked no. 1 in New Zealand. She has been head coach at multiple Auckland clubs and enjoys working with players of all ages and skill levels while creating an environment that is best suited to the player/s and their goals.

 

Emma’s qualifications include: 

  • Head or senior coaching positions held at multiple Auckland tennis clubs

  • Level 1 ITF Coaching Certification

  • Level 1 Coaching - Padel NZ Certified

  • Bachelor of Business (Management and Marketing), AUT 

  • College Sport Certified

  • First Aid Level 1 Qualification

Adrian Lagman

Senior Performance Coach

Adrian first started playing tennis when he was 7. After one year he started playing competitively and developed a major love for the sport. Key achievements in Adrian’s tennis career include a career high ranking of 4th in NZ juniors (2016), being an NZ Representative in 2016, played in an international tournament at the IMG Academy and obtaining a ranking of #1357 in the ITF Juniors Circuit. Adrian is also a high-performance Padel player and is ranked no. 3 in New Zealand.

Adrian’s coaching career first kicked off when he was recruited as a hitting partner for many top NZ up-and-coming juniors at various top tennis academies in NZ. His passion soon grew for coaching, and he pursued this in 2019. He coaches all ages and abilities, with a particular focus and passion for high-performance tennis.

Adrian’s qualifications include: 
 

  • Certified Junior Development Coach (ITF Level 1)

  • Level 1 Coaching - Padel NZ Certified

  • 3rd year Sport and Exercise Science Student at AUT

  • Currently working as a strength and conditioning coach at Athlete Development at AUT Millennium

  • First Aid certified

  • Simon Wheatley (professional tennis coach at the LTA’s) Junior High-Performance Coach Education Course

Andy Chiang

Senior Performance Coach

Andy has been playing tennis since he was 8 years old. He has competed extensively in tournaments and competitions through school and clubs, representing Auckland Grammar School in their Premier team and Remuera Rackets in their Caro Reserve team.

 

Andy has a passion for teaching the game of tennis and has coached beginners through to competition level players of all ages. He loves to empower players with the skills and knowledge to excel on the court.

Andy’s qualifications include:

  • Bachelor of Commerce (Economics), University of Auckland

  • Level 1 Coaching - Padel NZ Certified

  • First Aid certified

  • Held senior coaching roles at multiple Auckland tennis clubs

Max Stevens 

Senior Performance Coach

Max started playing tennis at the age of four and has experience competing at a professional level as well as playing internationally. With many years of coaching experience, he has worked with players of all ages and skill levels. 

 

Max's qualifications include:

• Experience competing at a professional level and playing internationally

• Coaching experience in Europe, working with players across a range of skill levels
​

• 17 years of playing experience and a background of over 7 years of coaching


​• Current top 50 national ranking in New Zealand​

•Ranked No. 4 at the New Zealand 18U Nationals in his final junior year
​

• 2023 Auckland Championships winner
​

• Multiple Kiwi Money Tournament titles
​

• Active competitor in Caro Bowl, New Zealand’s premier interclub tennis competition

  • Level 1 Coaching - Padel NZ Certified
